thoughts on Lent

Lent is the favorable time to revive our relationships with God and others, and especially learn to know, accept and trust God.
A meeting with oneself, to review and redirect life.
It’s a time to discern, to make decisions, to question where I’m going and with whom. And in this “with whom” I would have to include people, the believing community, and God Himself: What do they really paint in my life?
These are times when you have to make big decisions about life itself, and where, at the time of truth, we are always alone, because no one can and should make decisions for us, and the risk, ultimately, I assume.
It may be a time when we are silent inside, and wonder what we are doing, what we have done, how we are living… and it gives us the feeling that we have made a great mistake, and maybe we do not know where the mistake was, or how to correct it
And it’s time when we feel terribly alone taking on some responsibility, some decisions, some choices, that others don’t share, or don’t even understand, or that they don’t know.
An uphill road, which requires effort, sacrifice, and focus.
Time for Lent, to die and be born again!

Holy is not the one who never sins, but the one who repents and reconciles, changes and with the strength of God does not do it again. Holiness does not consist in never making
