Memorial for Bonnie Polly

The funeral service for The Rev. Bonnie Polley will be Thursday, August, 11 at 3:00 pm.  If you cannot attend in person, the service will be live streamed on the church Facebook page (@ccelasvegas) and YouTube Channel (ChristChurchEpiscopalLasVegas).

For anyone looking to pay their respects prior to the funeral, a memorial tent was setup today in the church parking lot.  Feel free to leave notes, flowers, etc. there in memory of Bonnie.  You may also make a donation in her memory to Epicenter on the Parkway using the QR found below so that the work she started can continue.

Back to School Drive

It’s time for kids and teachers to head back to the classroom. I’ve been in touch with Ms. Mooney at Gibson MS and she said they have just a few pressing needs. 1. Plain black or Navy Polo Shirts. Adult medium is the most popular size but they also can use Adult small and large. These are fairly inexpensive at Wal-Mart, Kohls or Target. 2. 3” binders. 3. Dividers for the binders. We will collect these items at the back of the church to deliver on August 5th.

Book Study Group

Beginning August 9, 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. we will be discussing Taste and See, by Margaret Feinberg

On this culinary exploration of Scripture, you’ll descend into the caverns of a salt mine, fish on the Sea of Galilee, bake fresh matzo at Yale University, ferry to a remote island in Croatia to harvest olives, spend time with a Texas butcher known as “the meat apostle,” and wander a California farm with one of the world’s premier fig farmers. With each visit, Margaret asks her hosts, “How do you read these Scriptures, not as theologians, but in light of what you do every day?” The answers will forever change the way you read the Bible–and approach every meal.
